About Raintree Counseling PLLC - Our Mission and Team

Dedicated to Compassionate and Effective Care

Our Commitment to Your Mental Wellbeing

At Raintree Counseling, I understand that building consistency, commitment, and daily momentum can feel uniquely overwhelming when you are navigating autism, ADHD, or OCD. You might often feel like you are working twice as hard just to keep up, or struggling to follow through on goals that feel effortless for others. My mission is to offer a warm, judgment-free space where adolescents, adults, and older individuals can slow down and breathe. Instead of forcing rigid structures that do not fit how your brain works, we focus on what feels gentle and sustainable for you. Together, we work at your own pace to build emotional resilience, improve communication in your relationships, and untangle the daily loops of anxiety or overwhelm. Healing and growth do not have to happen overnight, and you do not have to figure it all out alone. Whether you are seeking clarity on your neurodivergent experience or looking for steady, compassionate support through life transitions, I am here to help you navigate it all with patience and care.

Your Path to Healing Starts Here

Meet Me and Join My Community

Growing up in the remote beauty of Southeast Alaska taught me early on that family, deep commitment, and compromise are the anchors of our lives. Those foundational values have guided me through decades of experience, including graduating high school in 1983 and building a life with my spouse since 1987, raising two children—one of whom navigates life with Williams Syndrome on the autism spectrum. Parenting a neurodivergent child, alongside coaching neurodivergent athletes with the Special Olympics, taught me profound patience and the beauty of honoring each person's unique developmental timeline.

My path to becoming a therapist actually began in an unexpected place: mechanics. Having spent years working on everything from automobiles to marine engines and aviation, I became fascinated by how complex systems operate. That curiosity naturally evolved into a desire to understand the ultimate machine—the human mind and body.

This led me to dedicate years to studying human development across the entire lifespan, child development, and abnormal psychology. To deepen my clinical toolkit, I pursued specialized training in trauma-informed therapy, including CBT+ for children. Before opening my own practice, I spent seven years in public mental health, moving from an intern to a supervisor role, which gave me a deep appreciation for the systemic hurdles people face when trying to heal.

As a clinician, I believe deeply in the power of supportive, client-centered therapy. My goal is to walk alongside you as a steady partner, helping you build practical, empowering skills. Together, we focus on therapeutic strategies that help soothe your nervous system, untangle overwhelming thought patterns, and reduce the heavy symptoms you may be carrying, so you can rediscover a sense of balance and ease in your life
